Yesterday was my birthday. I turned 28 again! Weeee! Best years of my life, 28! The weekend was amazing, kicked off by some gorgeous fireworks and a surprise cake on the 4th of July, shopping and movies Saturday, shopping and good food Sunday, and cake and dancing last night!
Yes, dancing! Most people know I will do everything in my power to avoid shaking my groove thang in public. Being humiliated is NOT my idea of a good time. But my husband and daughters have caught me eyeing Just Dance on shelves for years. I don't know why I've always been intrigued by this game. Maybe it'll teach me how to move without my joints looking like they're in need of a good oiling? Nah. Maybe I'll sweat? Most likely.
I hate working out, but working out disguised as a fun game? Now that's my style.
So despite me telling The Man and The Daughters not to buy me anything for my birthday this year, they did. And we set up that evil camera on the PS4 in the basement, and we shook our groove thangs all night long. "Yeah. Yeah."
And we were mortified when we finished our first round and the rotten machine played back our poor excuses for body movement. Yep, Just Dance thinks it's awesome to show you how tremendously hideous you look while playing.
So while I went along thinking I looked something like this...
The game decided to tell me what I really looked like was this...
Well, maybe not even that good. I kind of enjoy watching Elaine Benes dance.
P.S. Today is the last day to enter for your chance to win an ARC of CHARMING! Head on over now!
P.P.S. If you don't win, don't worry. I'm starting a new contest as soon as this one ends.
